East Arkansas Children's Clinic sports Dr. Chelsea Kellow- Hedge

Dr. Chelsea Kellow- Hedge is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and pediatric provider at East Arkansas Children’s Clinic in Forrest City, Arkansas. She maintains a hospital practice at Forrest City Medical Center, where she serves as a neonatal and pediatric provider.

Dr. Hedge received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center; Doctor of Nursing Practice from The University of Tennessee, School of Graduate Health Sciences, and is certified by the American Nurse Credential Center. She received certification in Crisis Intervention from the University of Tennessee; a Certificate in Principles of Public Health from Pacific Public Health Training Center; and completed programs in Pediatric Behavioral Health and Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics. She completed her graduate training as a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society, Magna Cum Laude Honors Society and Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society. Her major areas of research and practice are adolescent gynecological care, adolescent risk taking behaviors, clinical practice improvement, and developmental pediatrics.

During her career Dr. Hedge has been an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Arkansas Nurse Practitioners Association, National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. Her leadership roles include serving as a member of the Arkansas Medical Society’s Nurse Practitioner and Physician Interest Group, she is the Legislative and Health Policy Committee Chair for the Arkansas Nurse Practitioner Association, a working member of the Arkansas Legislative Round Table, and a member of the Nursing Coalition Group. Dr. Hedge has a strong history in political activism and policy development at the local, state, and national level. She is the author of the Arkansas Nurse Practitioner Association’s 2016 position statement on Full Practice Authority and The Full Practice Authority ANPA Brief. She has served as a clinical preceptor for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the University of Arkansas. In 2008 she received special recognition for “Exceptional Clinical Care” by Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis and in 2016-2018 AY Magazine named Dr. Hedge among “Arkansas Best Healthcare Providers.”
